Meet Christina Archer

Smallholder Livelihoods

Christina has worked in both the overseas development and private sectors over the last 25 years, with extensive experience in Latin America and Asia. She worked for Save the Children UK for many years on issues such as impact assessment, livelihoods, emergency response, and child rights programme management. During her time with the SC South Asia team she started to interact with the private sector, who were beginning to identify and tackle child labour issues in their supply chains. To learn more about how business works, and the positive impact that business can have through responsible sourcing, she joined the Community Trade team of The Body Shop to manage their Latin America ingredient supply chains, more recently developing their new Sustainable Sourcing guidelines. During that time she also worked closely with L’Oreal on several sustainable sourcing initiatives. Christina is now working as a consultant, advising a range of clients on improving social and environmental impacts through better sourcing practices. Current projects include research on how to define and apply a Living Income concept to smallholder supply chains and supporting community enterprise development for biodiversity conservation in Asia and Latin America. She has been a Trustee of the Innocent Foundation since 2012, and on the Mission Council of Unilever’s Pukka Teas since 2018.
