Emily provides project management, facilitation, research, analysis, and support for the Food Lab’s food loss & waste efforts. As a previous full time staff member at the Food Lab she spent 13 years working in many integrated areas, including economic development, food security, sustainable agriculture, food systems, community development, marketing, and communications. Emily has spent considerable time working with small-scale farmers both abroad and at home in rural Vermont. She believes these farmers are a fundamental part of the solution to some of the most pressing issues facing our world. Both her graduate and undergraduate theses focused on the implementation and evaluation of timely and culturally appropriate sustainable development initiatives. Emily holds a B.S. in Public Policy and Anthropology from Hobart & William Smith, an M.S. in Management from Marlboro College Graduate School.
