Living income benchmarks provide a tangible goal for the improvement of incomes, however measuring and understanding the current income situation of farmers remains a persistent challenge. Conceived in the humanitarian aid sector, the Household Economy Approach (HEA) provides a robust framework that could be leveraged for understanding actual incomes, and also offers potential for modelling farm economics to inform decision making. Join Jessica Grillo (Heartwood LLC) and Jennifer Bush (FEG) as they present and discuss guidance produced under the Living Income Community of Practice on how the HEA can be used to measure the income gap.
