Open Technology Ecosystem for Agricultural Management Meeting
September 27, 2019 - September 29, 2019

Through our partnership with the Cool Farm Alliance, Food Lab staff will be attending the Open TEAM Kick-Off meeting in Denver from September 27th-29th. Open TEAM (Technology Ecosystem for Agricultural Management) is a project to build inter-operability into agricultural data so that data can flow to and from multiple end points in service of agronomy, research and sustainability. Data fluidity between farm sensors (soil and air temperature and moisture, animal weights, etc…), farm records, satellite imagery, management software, sustainability metrics/calculators, decision support tools and modeling can support producers-to-producer networks, researchers and the supply chain. The basis for the project is an open source platform that will leverage existing tools and enable exchange of agricultural information. The overall purpose is to support farmers to build and benefit from soil health. The project funding is from US Food Farm Agriculture Research (FFAR)’s Healthy Soils, Thriving Farms Challenge – “to increase soil health by building knowledge, fueling innovation, and enabling adoption of existing or new innovative practices that improve soil health”.
