VIRTUAL LIVING INCOME PRACTITIONER’S WORKSHOP
June 15 - June 16
Join the Sustainable Food Lab for the Living Income Community of Practice Virtual Workshop!
We all recognise there is no silver bullet for driving improvements for smallholder incomes and neither is any individual actor solely responsible for taking action for change. There are several levers and methods for improving incomes, appropriate for different actors, that can be applied holistically and can be implemented in various combinations depending on the context.
Through this workshop, the Living Income Community of Practice aims to empower all actors to advance proactively towards improving producer livelihoods. It provides a space where we, as a community, can share and learn together to build a system that works effectively between all actors to address systemic inefficiencies in closing the income gap.
Day 1 (15th June): Reviewing income drivers and impact evidence
-Review evidence on the effectiveness of income drivers
-Discuss components that make up a credible Living income programme
-Hear from practitioners, implementors and beneficiaries on what has worked well or not.
Day 2 (16th June): Breaking the barriers to closing the income gap
-Review persisting gaps that exist that hinder efforts in closing the income gap
-Discuss and define concretely the role of different actors
-Review tools, methodologies and guidance require to plug the gap where action is required
