Achieving Fair Prices and Living Incomes in Global Value Chains through Public Policies in Europe

The Food Lab is happy to share the Fair Trade Advocacy Office’s upcoming webinar: ACHIEVING FAIR PRICES AND LIVING INCOMES IN GLOBAL VALUE CHAINS THROUGH PUBLIC POLICIES IN EUROPE.

The event will start with a very interesting presentation by Ruud Bronkhorst, on the basis of his book The Economics of Human Rights: Using the Living Income/Fair Price Approach to Combat Poverty. In the second part, we will discuss the different ways that EU member states and the EU can contribute to living incomes in global value chains. We will look at relevant EU processes such as the Sustainable Corporate Governance initiative and hear how some member states are transposing the Unfair Trading Practices Directive to include the paying of prices below the costs of production.
